DNB

     Nazareth hospital has been given accreditation by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to admit and train students for the degree of DNB in the broad specialty subjects of family medicine, pediatrics, surgery, general medicine and anesthesiology:

     Admission process is conducted twice a year by Nazareth hospital. Advertisements are put out in the local and regional newspapers following which, there is an interview conducted to fill up the seats.

     At present, the departments of pediatrics and family medicine have students who are pursuing the course.

Rapsbun School of Nursing

     Rapsbun School of Nursing with annual intake of ten students was started by the Sisters of the Congregation of Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, with its own administration. The administration of the School was handed over to the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1988 and is attached to Nazareth hospital. The School is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and is under the Meghalaya State Nursing council. The school has expanded over the years and the annual intake of students has increased to 35 with training period of 3 1/2 years duration. Besides the academic training, the School is concerned about the personality development of each student in moral and spiritual values. Keeping this in mind the students are given appropriate inputs. The students take active participation in the extra curricular activities organized at the unit, State and national level for which they won laurels for the school. The most recent highlights are the State level Student Nurse’s Association Conference 2002 and 2004, where they won the award for the “Best Active Unit”. At the National Biennial Conferences of Student Nurse’s Association of India, in Kerala 2002 and Tamil Nadu 2004 they received the award for “Most Active Nursing School”. From 1979 till date the school has been excelling in its academic and extracurricular performances. The school takes pride in saying that few of its past students have climbed the heights to Graduate and Post Graduate Degrees in Nursing Profession.

Diploma in Medical laboratory Technology

     The School of Medical Laboratory Technology started in the year 2003 in Nazareth Hospital This is a diploma course which is affiliated to the Christian Medical Association of India(CMAI), Vellore and it offers two year diploma with six months internship and one year bond. 6th batch of students are admitted on 1st August,2008. 1st batch of Bsc MLT under Martin Luther University has successfully completed and graduated on 6th August, 2008. The 2nd batch of Bsc MLT started in August 2008. These students get excellent opportunity for theory and practical training.

Diploma in Nursing Administration

     Nazareth hospital is recognized by IGNOU to conduct one year Diploma course in Nursing Administration. 1st batch of students have successfully completed the course and the 2nd batch is in their academic year. Application for the course is issued from IGNOU office, Shillong.
